What can you do?
Alive and kicking
Ever tried to push a standing vehicle - like a car? That's quite heavy, especially for the first couple of inches. But once you get the car rolling the easier it gets. The same counts for us, humans: Don't sit still, even if it's not yet chrystal clear where and how you can serve the Lord. Take action, start pushing. Learn to see things in God's way and trust that He will open or close doors for you. Join a mission project for a short time and get some inside experience. You not only live, but you are Alive and Kicking!
Helping and Vacation
Help the homeless and drug addicts in Rome, instruct people about HIV Aids in Africa, build schools for destitute children AND have some holiday? Yes, that is possible. For example Wycliffe or Mission Adventures (YWAM). There are even organizations specialised in short term trips.
A year of character shaping
Before, during or after your continuation study you could set a year apart to develop in personal character, to cultivate a living relationship with God, and to identify your unique individual gifts and callings in God. There are many possibilities like a discipleship training combined with gospel outreach. Or doing practical work for a certain period. You can be sure of one thing: your life will be enriched and changed afterwards!.
A life long missionary?
Our God is the God of freedom. It's not necessary to box yourself in by deciding about the period you will be in mission. Often the Lord will use whatever you offer Him and - by going His way - He will reveal the next step to you.
Mother Teresa may not have thought at age 18 who she would end up to be at old age. Yet she "just showed up for work every day" and became the face and voice for all who were "outcasts". Her credo was "man is created to love and to be loved".
