Support(ive) work
If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well.
Romans 12:7 Living Bible translation
Jungle? No way!
Perhaps church planting or Aid work is not exactly your style. Living in a jungle? Scary! Meeting new people and befriending them? Well, again, you'd rather sit at home reading a good book!
So… is anyone looking for your talents? Dare to take the challenge and find out for yourself. Ask us for a list of possibilities and find out the enormous variety. The task you're cut out for, is as important as preaching. In many the Bible mentions the gift of serving others.
What has God asked you to do?
Don't worry, not everybody is called to go abroad or to work in the line of fire! God has a unique plan for you. Do you know what that is? If not: talk with Him, listen to His answers, talk with people who know you, with mission workers and mission advisors.A talent test (or character test) can help you to find a fitting place or job.
Spiritual growth
It's also important to know your spiritual maturity. As young as you may be, you may be fit to be a leader, think of Timothy in the Bible. If you need more growth, working together with experienced missionaries and helping them out with their practical chores is one of the best learning experiences.
Financial support
Mobilizing financial support can show to be more difficult in this area. Think about it: you don't stand in the limelight and the work does not always have such a glamorous ring to it. But keep in mind that when God calls you then "He will make the way where there seems to be no way".
