Aid
And what pity He felt for the crowds that came, because their problems were so great
and they did not know what to do or where to go for help.
Matthew 9:36 Living Bible translation
Aid
Aiding people is to use your profession to both helping people as well as being an active witness of Jesus Christ. You bring hope and comfort to many thousands of people.
Working as a computer specialist, an accountant, a construction site manager… just think of a profession and there is a need for it! You can show people the love of God, a mighty tool especially in those countries which are closed to the Gospel. To work in these countries, you will most often be sent as a "tentmaker", which means that you provide for your own cost of living and often work in a secular entourage.
Aid can open many doors, even in countries where you can talk freely about the Gospel.
Help where you can
Jesus was not only a teacher, He healed the blind, made the lame walk, mended broken hearts. His heart and arms opened to the outcasts of society. Like Jesus you can teach and heal and mend. You can transfer knowledge to local people and instead of giving them a fish to appease their hunger, you can teach them to fish for themselves.
Preparation
A preparatory mission training could be a precondition or just very practical, it all depends on the kind of work, where and how long you will be out in the field.
Working together
One little charcoal in the barbecue dies quickly, but the lot of them will keep the fire going. If you consider working independently in your profession (in a country where missionaries are already active), we recommend you to contact them. Combining forces and possibilities will benefit everyone.
