Motivation

And He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. 2Cor. 5:15

Your working field

Imagine to trod jungle paths to reach people, to go to city slums to seek the destitute, stand alongside farmers to plant rice, dig water wells, lay bricks or invest time and energy in child care etc. etc. Think of a job or task, think of working with your hands or head, and there is a vacancy in mission.

God wants to use YOU

Would there be anything more fulfilling in your life but when God will use you to show His love and care for people? He can use you to help and solve physical needs, but He can also ask you to bring people to Himself, to the Source of Life. Would you like that?

Your motives

Be honest to yourself! What are the real motives when you think of a job or task in mission? Is it first of all to bring people closer to Gods warm heart? Or are there other motives playing a role also, such as:

Adventure
A sense of adventure is not by all means wrong. However, exciting stories from far away exotic countries not always tell the whole truth.

Adventure is by far no good reason to go into mission!

Greener grass
The grass is always greener at the other side. Maybe you are not happy with your present circumstances? Maybe they are even bad? Or maybe you don't know exactly what you want and just think of quitting it all, which makes going into mission an escape?

Not exactly the best of reasons to go into mission!
.

Limelight
Maybe you seek attention from people around you and you want to impress them with a stunning action, so that you can stand in the limelight? Maybe you have a low self esteem and need some ohs and ahs and taps on the shoulder from family and friends?

No good reason to go into mission!

Crusader
"Forward Christian Soldiers" might be your favourite song. You have courage and you are also full of determination to go for Jesus. Excellent! But do you have enough courage to wait for His instructions? And to love like Jesus did?

Are you your own commander, then please consider your motives again. Can you follow His loving steps through thick and thin?

If so, then seek ways to join the mission.

What makes you tick for mission?

Please see the list here below. Can you affirm each statement and say "yes" to all of them? If so then continue your search for a matching job and organization. And if you need more information or help, then you can contact us.

My first reason to go into mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ
I chose to let God determine my life
I have my "quiet time" with God on a regular basis and mission is in my prayers
I can make and keep friendships
And when you are married: my family supports my desire to go into mission
we have a stable relation in our marriage
My home church backs me up when I would decide for mission.
